It is with great sadness that we learned that Geert van Dort friend and member of the Kendo National Team passed away. We would like to present to his family our deepest condolences.
Rest in peace Geert
Those who want pay a last time their respect to Geert can join the funeral ceremony in Lochristi next thursday 17/05 at 11.00 am

Iaido Seminar with high-level instructors from ZNKR and Europe, Seminar is OPEN to all grades (Dan and Kyu) and is followed by 1st to 5th ABKF gradings and 6th and 7th Dan EKF gradings.
This event is organized by the ABKF with the support of ZNKR and the authorization of EKF.

This week, we received a very sad news from The Netherlands. Our very first webmaster but also close friend, Rob van Acht, passed away. We would like to present to his wife and family our deepest condolences… Rest in peace Rob.
In December since 27 years in a row, ABKF organise its Winter event for Kendo, Iaido and Jodo. This year, almost 400 persons coming from 31 different countries showed up at (at least) one of the trainings organized from Tuesday to Sunday. During the weekend, also grading sessions took place where we welcomed around 130 candidates and we ended with the traditional Kendo competitions ( ladies, men individuals and the team of three). Specific for this tournament is the “Ippon Shobu” rule which asks for constant sharpness of attention if you want to win the tournament.
This year we had our sponsors “Ichigan” which offered nice tabi to the female winner but also “Rio Brewering Co” which offered nice set of beer to all winners and last but not least “All Nippon Airways” who made it possible to send our individual winners to Japan!
An extra was the fact that the female winner is officially invited by Mimasaka city (Japan) to join the 2018 edition of the “Otsu Cup” which takes place on October 14th, 2018 in Japan!
